0.8 Movie Review (Yes Man)

Photobucket

I've never really liked Jim Carrey. I've always thought he was kind of obnoxious. But I REALLY liked him in this movie. He was downright hilarious, and he really made the whole movie.

Of course this was a comedy, and no comedy these days is complete without a little inappropriateness, and I was expecting a lot of it. Surprisingly enough, there wasn't very much! (of course there was still some obscenity, but it was way better than some of the comedies of seen recently. *cough*cough* Don't Mess With the Zohan, Tropic Thunder, etc.) I was very pleases, and this movie exceeded my expectations.

So this movie was ok. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 5 or a 6. It was entertaining, and funny, but not spectacular. If you want a good laugh I would go see it.

0.7 Movie Review (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button)

Movie Review #7!!!

Photobucket

I think the story line of this movie was phenomenal. It was a great idea, and it was a very entertaining movie. The actors were excellent and really made the movie what it was. (and of course who doesn't love brad pitt?) It was told in a very interesting way, which could be confusing at times, but it worked out. Overall this movie was extremely creative.

However, I think there were a few things wrong with this movie. First and foremost, I think this movie was too focused about sex. It could have had a lot less of the mature content, and it would have been an excellent movie. Second their language was foul, and of course nowadays that's in just about every movie, but it seemed like they were trying too hard to be obscene.

This movie was both sad, and enlightening. There were several moments when you would just focus your entire attention toward the movie because you had to know what happens next! and I really liked it for that. The director did an excellent job, and I would advise everyone to go see it.

0.6 Movie Review (Seven Pounds)

Movie Review #3: Seven Pounds

seven pounds

This movie was first and foremost, fantastic. Though hardly inspirational. I'm not really a fan of sad movies, but I must say this movie was spectacular. I've never cried in a movie before, and I could feel the tears welling up as I watched this.

The acting was phenomenal, I've always been kind of neutral about Will Smith, but after seeing this movie he has definitely showed his acting ability. I was convinced through every second of it and I don't think anybody could have done a better job.

The only set back with this movie was that it was slightly confusing. But everything came together at the end.

This movie has changed my outlook on life and I advise everyone to go and see it, but I don't think this movie is appropriate for young children.

0.5 The Jonas Brothers

Whenever I think of the Jonas brothers this is what comes to mind:

I don't know how so many teenage girls find these neanderthals in skin tight pants with guitars on their crotches attractive, but I sure don't.

0.4 Tis the season

FINALLY!!!
Today was our last day of midterms, and I am SOOO happy. After 3 days of torture, I have fourteen to enjoy myself over christmas break! although I'm not going anywhere I have quite a few plans made already, and i CANNOT wait!!!
I must say that christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I may even like it better than summer! *gasp* I know! but you don't get presents during the summer, and everyone's just generally more happy around christmas time.

So I just recently finished reading Paper Towns by John Green:

Paper Towns

and I liked it very very much. I recommend it for everyone. I love John Green, and this book is awesome, I kind of wish he would extend some of his work and turn them into a series. The other day I described him as "the male version of Sara Dessen". Wow. I am such a dork.

In my spare time I've been watching kikujiro:

El Verano de Kikujiro

It's adorable in it's own little way. Although it's quite old, I might do a little review on it. We'll see.

Ooh! I'm seeing Seven Pounds tomorrow with Will Smith! I'm excited about that! i will definitely be doing a review about that!

Until next time, It's time to catch up on that sleep I've been deprived of for a couple weeks now. :D

0.3 Drama, Exams, etc.

Wow, I think I've had more than my fair share of drama in the last week or so. But luckily, I think everything is pretty much worked out...for now. The only thing I'm concerned about now is mid-terms. I have mid-terms until friday so I probably won't update this for a while. I'm really determined to get some good grades with these tests. If I get all A's I can get my cartilage pierced!!! So wish me luck!

0.2 Movie Review (The Day the Earth Stood Still)

So yesterday I saw the day the earth stood still, and I thought I would give you my personal little review about it. So here it goes!

The Day the Earth Stood Still

To get a general idea of this movie I'm going to put the trailer in here too. I will probably start doing that with every movie review.

I am a big fan of suspense/sci-fi, so I was very enthusiastic about this movie. If any of you have seen the 1950's version that was a classic! Not that the remake was bad, it's just a shame the don't make movies like they used to anymore.

The special effects were phenomenal, I don't think they could have done a better job. Everything was so believable, I was very pleased.

The acting was good too, I was very convinced throughout the whole movie. They chose a great cast (including Will Smith's adorable son!)

Although I really enjoyed this movie, it definitely isn't appropriate for little kids, it was pretty violent/gory, and overall kind of creepy, but that's the point of a sci-fi movie! I would definitely recommend it, just not for young children.
